Growing a Healthier Planet, Together

We believe a healthy planet makes for healthy futures. For the third year in a row, we are proud to team up with One Tree Planted on World Environment Day to plant trees in areas needing reforestation around the world. 

According to One Tree Planted, trees play a vital role in our ecosystem. They help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s biodiversity. By planting trees, we can protect and restore the Earth—and help make healthy possible for all.

This partnership is just one part of our broader commitment to environmental sustainability. As a global and growing company, we understand that our responsibility to improve lives extends beyond medicine. It includes protecting the natural resources and ecosystems that sustain human health and well-being.

🌿 In the United States: Energy Innovation and Employee Engagement

Our Brookhaven, New York facility is leading the way in energy efficiency. It features a geothermal well system that uses the earth’s natural temperature to heat and cool the facility, significantly reducing energy consumption. We’ve also installed LED lighting throughout the site and implemented a low-power mode for our Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, saving millions of kilowatt hours annually of energy.

Our people are also making a difference. The Brookhaven Green Team, made up of more than 30 passionate employee volunteers, launched a community garden initiative that includes herb and vegetable beds and pollinator-friendly flowers. These grassroots efforts foster a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness.

🌿 In India: Cleaner Energy and Smarter Water Use

In 2024, our India team made major strides in reducing carbon emissions and conserving water. At our Vizag facility, we transitioned from coal to biomass fuel—eliminating the use of approximately 140 tons of coal each month and reducing over 1,600 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually.

Meanwhile, our Rajoda site harvested more than 6,000 kiloliters of rainwater during the monsoon season. This water was treated and reused in plant utilities, reducing freshwater consumption and minimizing environmental discharge. These efforts reflect our commitment to sustainable resource management and environmental responsibility.

🌿 In Ireland: Emissions Reduction and Smart Energy Use

In Ireland, we’ve achieved a 13.6% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions since our 2022 baseline. This progress is the result of targeted energy efficiency upgrades, smart monitoring systems, and a commitment to sourcing renewable energy. Our teams are focused on optimizing equipment performance, and continuously improving our environmental data tracking systems.
